Thomas was shown as a 78-year-old farmer, born NC; Susannah was shown as age 78, born NC. Their granddaughter Jane McKinney, age 25, was enumerated with them, as was the boy William Carrell, age 15, shown with them on the 1850 census. 
Death20 May 1873 Susannah Wiseman Baker died on 20 May 1873 at Buncombe County, NC, at age 91. In Lloyd Bailey's A History of the Methodist Church in the Toe River Valley, he sets out a reprint of an obituary of Susannah Wiseman Baker, written in the Holston Methodist on 26 Jul 1873, setting out the date of Susannah's death.
