What was particularly neat -- and says a lot about Kacy -- is that her friends, both young and not-so, made a special effort to be there for the graduation. Two women who have known Kacy for 30 years or more both made arrangements to take time from work and families to share in Kacy's joy, and a young friend who has known her only for a few years did the same.
Barbara, who now lives in Pennsylvania, has known Kacy since they were young teens. Kathy is also from Pennsylvania and has known Kacy since grade school. Kathy never changes: she would have stuck her tongue out if Kacy were being inaugurated as President... Her bashful son Willy did most of the driving down and back.
Michelle just finished her freshman year at George Mason University and says she couldn't have done it without Kacy's mentoring over just the past few years.
